Bristol Airport's Hampton by Hilton hotel sold off for £24m with 'opportunity to expand'

A hotel by Bristol Airport has been sold off for £24million to a British property company.

Ability Group, which owns 14 UK and European hotels, bought the Hampton by Hilton from CIMC Capital Limited.

The hotel has 201 bedrooms, two meeting rooms, a gym, lounge area and food and drink facilities - but there is an "opportunity" to expand the property by another 50 rooms, according to global real estate company CBRE, which advised on the sale.

The Hilton is located next to the airport terminal and is the only branded hotel at Bristol Airport.

Anuraag Badola, director of hotel investment properties at CBRE said: “We are delighted to have advised CIMC on this transaction.

"This asset is a well-presented, modern hotel that benefits from both its association with Hilton Worldwide and its prime strategic location as the only hotel in Bristol Airport, an important transport hub for the city of Bristol and the South West region."

With its hotel portfolio, developments and commercial assets, Ability Group says it is aiming to reach a net worth of £2billion this year, according to the company's website.

Other recent acquisitions include the Doubletree by Hilton Aberdeen; Hampton by Hilton Edingburgh; Park Inn by Radisson Manchester; and Park Inn by Radisson Peterborough.

The news comes as Bristol Airport continues to help bring stranded residents back to the UK.
