Bristol Airport's easyJet flights to Iceland resume for first time in 18 months

EasyJet has resumed direct flights from Bristol to Reykjavik, marking the first time such a journey has been possible in 18 months.

The airline stopped its direct flights from Bristol to Iceland as Covid-19 took hold in early 2020. However, with lockdown restrictions lifted and travel now back on the agenda, it has decided to restart the route.

Two flights will leave per week: one on Thursday lunchtime and one early on Sunday morning. Return flights will leave Reykjavik on Thursday afternoon and late Sunday morning.

Easyjet's prices start at £23, one-way. Flights back to Bristol, on the other hand, can be as low as £23 or as high as £259, depending on when you want to fly - so check before you plan a whole trip.

Bristol Airport has come under fire in recent days after it announced a price hike for its car parks. Ten minutes in its drop and go car park will set you back £5 from next week, up from the current £4. It was just £1 as recently as 2018.

The short stay and pick up car park, meanwhile, will see its cheapest fare, for 20 minutes, rise from £3.50 to £5.
