Bristol Airport reintroduces regular flights to Cork

Irish airline Emerald Airlines has recommended its regular flights between Bristol and Cork to be reintroduced.

The operator of Aer Lingus Regional, which schedules flights between England and Ireland, has recommended a service to run six times per week, daily, except for Saturdays. The airline already operates flights between Bristol and Dublin seven days a week.

Commenting on the announcement, Ciarán Smith, head of commercial at Emerald Airlines said: "As we commence our flights from Bristol to Cork, we are pleased to offer increased connectivity and convenient timings to our customers. We are confident that this highly-anticipated route will be well-received by both business and leisure travellers, and we look forward to continuing to collaborate with our partners in Bristol Airport and Cork Airport, ensuring the success of this service."

Rupert Lawrie, commercial director, Bristol Airport added: "We are delighted to see the return of the Bristol – Cork flight. Our partnership with Emerald Airlines, exclusive operator of the Aer Lingus Regional services, further strengthens the air links between the South West of England and Ireland, extending the options available to customers in the region when selecting to fly from their local airport.

"We look forward to continue working with the team at Emerald Airlines to foster the growth of this service."

Bristol Airport has announced a number of changes in the past few months, including the introduction of a new flight route from Bristol Airport to Zurich. Swiss International Air Lines (SWISS) has begun operating the new flight route, which was first announced last summer.

Airlines SWISS, RyanAir, Jet2 and EasyJet have all expanded their operations at Bristol airport within recent months.
