Bristol Airport issues travel warning after A38 Bristol Road crash closure

Bristol Airport passengers have been issued a travel warning following the closure of a major road near the M5 .

Police officers are currently at the scene of a crash in A38 Bristol Road which happened earlier this morning (September 17).

The collision took place near Brent Street and the roundabout at J22 with the M5.

Motorists have been advised to avoid the area and consider alternative routes, with the road expected to be closed for the rest of the morning.

In particular, those heading to Bristol Airport today have been advised to avoid the area.

A spokesperson for the airport said on Twitter: "We have been advised that the A38 at Brent Knoll (just off M5 J22) is closed due to an incident.

"If you are heading to the airport you are advised to continue M5 North exit J21 and use the A370.

"The road is due to be closed for most of the morning. We will issue an update once it has re-opened."

A police spokesperson added: "A38 at Brent Knoll (just off M5 J22) is closed due to an incident. If you are heading to @BristolAirport continue M5 North exit J21 and use the A370."
