Brisbane's Brownlow medallist Lachie Neale has been offered a $1500 fine by the AFL for making contact with an umpire.
Neale touched field umpire Matthew Nicholls during the second term of the Lions' win against Carlton on Saturday.
Post-game, the Brisbane star said he was bleeding and making Nicholls aware that he had to go off under the blood rule.
"I felt the blood and I thought he was about to throw it (the ball) up," Neale told Fox Footy.
"I didn't even realise that I did that ... I was just trying to get his attention to get off the ground."
On Sunday, the AFL's match review officer Michael Christian deemed Neale's actions as making unnecessary or unreasonable contact with an umpire.
The incident was classified as a $2500 sanction as a first offence, with the midfielder able to accept a $1500 fine with an early guilty plea.
Neale was one of three players offered fines from Saturday's games.
Carlton's Levi Casboult was charged with kneeing Brisbane's Ryan Lester and offered a $2000 fine with an early guilty plea.
And North Melbourne's Jy Simpkin was charged with striking Fremantle's Ethan Hughes and also offered a $2000 fine with an early guilty plea.
