Brisbane nurse charged with 46 counts of rape allegedly drugged and filmed women he met on dating apps

Police allege the man used social media dating sites to target victims who he later drugged, filmed and sexually assaulted.

Police have charged a 30-year-old Brisbane man with more than 135 sexual offences against 31 women after he allegedly drugged women he met on dating sites and filmed himself sexually assaulting them.

The charges span a four-year period, dating back to 2016, and include 46 counts of rape against 21 women.

It comes after Queensland police issued a public appeal for information following the sexual assault of a woman in her early 20s in August.

Police searched an address at Mary Street in Brisbane and found several mobile phones as well as video recording equipment, prescription and illicit drugs

As a result, a further 31 victims were identified in connection with incidents across south-east Queensland dating back to 2016.

Detective Inspector Glen Farmer said the man allegedly used social media dating sites to target his victims.

"It's also alleged he subsequently administered substances and filmed himself engaged in non-consensual sexual acts with his victims," he said.

"Detectives are continuing work to identify a number of women who they believe may also be victims of this man's alleged predatory behaviour.

"We are encouraging any woman who believes they may have experienced a similar pattern of behaviour to come forward."

The offences allegedly occurred in Bethania, Springwood and central Brisbane between 2016 and 2020.

Police said the man, who worked as a nurse, first appeared in court in August, facing 10 charges relating to the alleged sexual assault of a woman in her 20s.

He was denied bail and his registration as a health practitioner was suspended by the Queensland Health Ombudsmen.

At the time, the court was told the man had used sedatives from the south-east Queensland hospital where he was working.

Police said they were so far unable to identify other alleged victims seen in the man's video recordings.

In addition to sexual offences, the former nurse has also been charged with 38 counts of observations or recordings in breach of privacy, 14 counts of stupefying in order to commit an offence and seven counts of unlawful possession of restricted drugs.

The man is also facing additional charges relating to computer hacking, distributing intimate images, impersonation and stalking.

He will face the Brisbane Magistrates Court on Thursday.
