Brisbane man accuses housemate of beating, torturing him over months

A man has accused his housemate and another man of torturing him over a number of months at Kingston, south of Brisbane.

Police said a 25-year-old man went to Beenleigh police station on Sunday afternoon to report having been assaulted and held against his will for a "number of months".

He was then taken to Princess Alexandra Hospital with cuts and bruises.

Officers said it appeared the man had been beaten around the head, but his injuries were not life threatening.

One of the two men charged over the incident lived with the victim and was his housemate.

The other man lived in the same suburb.

Police would not confirm why neither of the men were charged with deprivation of liberty.

The pair, in their 20s, were scheduled to appear in the Beenleigh Magistrates Court to also face charges of torture and acts intended to cause grievous bodily harm.

However they were not brought into the courtroom, with their lawyers securing an adjournment until April 18.

The men will remain in custody and will face court via videolink on that date.
