Brisbane father pleads guilty to 6yo daughter's murder

A father has pleaded guilty to killing his six-year-old daughter in her bedroom at Kedron in 2015, the Supreme Court in Brisbane has heard.

The father of two, who cannot be named for legal reasons, has been in custody since fleeing the family home in September that year after murdering his youngest daughter while she slept in their rented home on Brisbane's northside.

The 54-year-old was found on the Gold Coast hours later and arrested.

The young girl's body was discovered by her mother.

She called paramedics but the child had been dead for several hours.

He showed no emotion as he pleaded guilty in court and he will be sentenced on December 20.
