'Bring him home, legend!' - Arsenal fans loved what Santi Cazorla did for Spain against Malta

Spain thumped Malta 7-0 in their Euro 2020 qualifier on Friday evening to ensure they top Group F.

And a former Arsenal player played a central role.

With on-loan midfielder Dani Ceballos not involved because of injury, there was a start in central midfield alongside Manchester City's Rodri and Bayern Munich's Thiago Alcantara for ex-Gunners star Santi Cazorla.

And the 34-year-old made the most of the rare start as he helped himself to a goal to give the hosts a 2-0 lead before the break.

The goal - his first for La Roja since November 2015 - came just a day after he dropped a hint about returning to the Emirates Stadium in the future.

"I never got to say a proper goodbye," he said,  in an interview with the Independent. "It was the biggest team I played for in my career and I miss everything about Arsenal.

"I don’t know what my legacy is there, you would have to ask the fans, but I want to say thank you to them all.

"I would like to play at the Emirates one last time before I retire."

And after seeing the midfielder get on the scoresheet, some Arsenal fans want to see Cazorla back at the club.
