Bring broken household items back to life at free Leeds event

People can take old TVs, toys and clothes to an event in Leeds city centre in February and get them fixed for free.

The Leeds Repair Cafe is hosting a Big Fix event at Kirkgate Market between 11am and 4pm on Saturday, February 15.

Skilled volunteers will be on hand to fix a range of household items and show owners how to do it. The event is free to attend but donations are encouraged.

Ed Carlisle, one of the coordinating team, is urging people to bring down anything that might be gathering dust in their house, instead of just throwing it away.

He said: "More and more of us are aware of environmental issues, and want to become greener - and obviously, save money too.

"The Leeds Repair Cafe's proven to be a great way to do all that, and we really want to build that movement across the city and region.

"Our aim ultimately is to have locally-led Repair Cafes in every community, and we're happy to advise and support anyone anywhere to make that happen.

"Join us at the market on the 15th if you can, or be in touch anytime".
