Brilliant video shows kids and fully grown men 'who came out of pub' to run through burst water pipe

A burst water pipe in Heywood has provided unlikely fun for some residents who couldn't wait to rush out and stand underneath it.

The huge jet of water pouring out in to the road saw children running to stand underneath it and get soaked and residents took to social media to post footage and comment.

One resident said "fully grown men" had run out of the pub to do it.

While others joked about sending the kids out with shower gel or said they were "just missing a bit of soap."

One resident said: "They should make that a permanent feature" while another lamented "Should have happened when it was scorching."

Other residents were more concerned about wasting water and expressed how long it was taking to resolve.

A spokesperson for United Utilities said: "The burst water main on Pilsworth Road was reported to United Utilities at approximately 4.50pm yesterday, August 13.

"We despatched a repair team to site and I am pleased to confirm that the main has now been repaired. "

"We’re really sorry to people for the disruption this caused."
