'Brilliant' parenting hack for those struggling to get babies to take medicine

Many parents will know the struggle of getting their little ones to take medicine.

We all know the story; they’ve got a temperature, they’re fussy, but they won’t sit still long enough for mum or dad to give them some medicine.

The Parent Pack , a parenting advice site, shared a handy hack to Facebook today, offering an alternative solution.

The ‘genius’ advice shows parents using the provided Calpol syringe alongside the top of a baby bottle.

The page suggested that parents use the two together, administering the medicine as the baby sucks on the teet.

Mum’s are loving the hack already, with many commenting that they can’t wait to try it.

Carina Barr said: “Defs need to try this”, while Laura Jarvis said: “Love this”.

Many parents have already tried the trick with their little ones; Megan Hiscock said: “My 4 month old daughter has to take antibiotics x2 a day for life, she takes it like a dream using this hack!”.

Laura Smith also said: “I have never done it any differently tbh.

“Why would I put a foreign object in her mouth that she's not used to when it's something I NEED her to drink, when I can give it in a bottle teat that she sucks on several times a day”.

Two mums noted that this may not be ideal for breastfeeding parents, as Helen Dabrowski said: “If only I could do this with my boob”.
