'Brilliant, outstanding, I can watch that all night' - Man Utd icon gushes over Liverpool and Tottenham stars after Wales win

Manchester United great and fierce critic Roy Keane has lavished praise on Harry Wilson and Gareth Bale for the parts they played in Wales' 3-1 victory over Finland.

While it was a mightily impressive performance all-round from the Welsh team, Keane believed Wilson's opener was "outstanding", while he labelled the young, rising Wales stars as "exciting".

Wales' first goal was certainly pleasing on the eye. Bale danced into a good position on the edge of the box before slotting through a killer pass to Wilson, who had made a clever diagonal run into the box, for him to smash home.

Keane, a legend for winning 17 trophies at Manchester United, is a TV pundit renowned for his criticism and scathing post-match analysis.

However, when it came to Wales, he had nothing but gushing praise.

“They have got some young and exciting talent,” Keane said on ITV.

“They have, of course, got a brilliant player in Bale, who seems to be getting sharper with more minutes under his belt.

“I loved this goal [Wilson’s opener]. Bale gets a break of the ball, it’s the run from Wilson [from the edge of the box into the penalty area] brilliant, outstanding and lovely weight of pass. Beautiful.

"I can watch that all night. Fantastic.”

It is fair to say that everyone in Wales would agree with Keane's sentiments following the victory, which ensured Rob Page's side finished top of their Nations League group and gaining promotion in doing so.

To do so in such emphatic fashion, with the majority of players still at the beginning of their international careers, is certainly very encouraging.
