Brilliant new footage of John Egan's headed goal against Portugal shows the Ireland defender shouting 'I love you Ma'.
In the end it was bitter disappointment for Ireland as two late goals from Cristiano Ronaldo broke their hearts in Faro.
But despite the 2-1 defeat it was undoubtedly their best ever performance under Stephen Kenny and it was summed up by Egan's determination to get his head on a cross swung in by Jamie McGrath in the 45th minute.
The Corkman scored the headed goal right in front of a select group of Irish supporters in the stadium and the FAI's videographer Matty Turnbull.
His great footage shows Sheffield United centre back Egan screaming 'I love you Ma' as he is embraced by his teammates.
And it also shows the experienced Jeff Hendrick imploring his teammates to 'stay, stay' and enjoy the moment!
