A determined mum who is celebrating being sober for 20 years has been praised by her daughter.
Ina Watson was nominated for our Say It With flowers competition by her daughter, Caroline Ford.
Ina gave up alcohol two decades ago and has been sober ever since.
Now she is a full-time carer, looking after adults with mental health problems.
Caroline said: “My mum is so strong and we are all so proud of her.
“She stopped drinking 20 years ago when she was going to become a gran, and has been in recovery ever since.
“She works two jobs as a carer and works long hours but she loves it.
“She is always there for me too when I need a lift or a helping hand or just a chat.
“She takes on the world and never complains. Nothing is ever too much for my mum.”
Caroline’s papa was diagnosed with dementia a few years ago, which was a lot for Ina to deal with.
But that hasn’t stopped her going to see him whenever she can, spending as much time as possible with her dad.
Caroline explained: “My mum always makes time to go and see her dad in the care home he is in.
“She used to care for him a lot before he moved into the home. Now she is always visiting him in there.
“She is just brilliant and such a caring person.”
When Caroline contacted us to nominate her mum for the flowers, we were only happy to help out.
