The opening day of the second Test between Pakistan and England in Multan on Tuesday saw a funny moment, where former England captain Joe Root found a unique way to shine the ball.
In a video shared by 'Sky Sports Cricket' on social media, Root could be seen rubbing the ball on the bald head of spinner Jack Leach to get some sweat on the red cherry in order to shine it.
"Brilliant! We've seen that before," the commentator could be heard saying, while the post on 'X' was captioned: "Joe Root finding the best ways to shine the ball."
England lead the two-match series 1-0, having registered an innings victory at the same venue last week.
Playing on the same track that was used for the first Test, Pakistan captain Shan Masood had no hesitation to bat first after winning the toss.
While allrounder Ben Stokes recovered fit to lead England, Pakistan are without Babar Azam and pacers Shaheen Shah Afridin and Naseem Shah, who have been left out of the squad for the second and third Tests.
By the time this report was published, Pakistan had reached 144 for 2 in 49 overs, thanks to an unbroken 125-run partnership between Saim Ayub (61*) and debutant Kamran Ghulam (68*).
