Brilliant footage shows Flower of Scotland ringing around Lothian Road in late night celebration

Flower of Scotland was ringing around Lothian Road as football fans toasted an historic achievement by the men's national team.

A dramatic penalty shootout victory over Serbia in Belgrade ensured Steve Clarke's side secured their spot at next summer's rearranged Euro 2020 championships.

Fans across Scotland lapped up the result from home, with supporters still shut out of grounds and ordered not to travel due to the pandemic.

And while many people celebrated inside their homes, a number of passionate fans took to one of Edinburgh's busiest street in a bagpipe celebration.

Here's a look at people on social media had to say about the celebrations.

"Put a tear in my eye that. Brilliant brilliant brilliant" - @mikenotmike78

"Great scenes in Scotland last night" - @sineaddaly

"I love this city" - @JFKennedy_97

"Absolutely love being Scottish" - @clairegirly

Scotland bagged their place at next summer's major finals with a 5-4 penalty win over the Serbians in Belgrade. David Marshall made the decisive save after Leigh Griffiths, Scott McTominay, Oli McBurnie, Callum McGregor and Kenny McLean scored from the spot.
