Brilliant Cardiff City v Blackpool player ratings as Wickham nigh-on perfect and Ralls puts in performance of the season

Ryan Allsop 7

Spilt an early cross but wasn't troubled too much after that. Collected a few crosses fairly easily. A comfortable day for him.

Perry Ng 7

Ian Poveda found some early joy in behind him but he then settled into the game well and looked like the Perry we have seen all season.

Mark McGuinness 7

Like Ng, was stretched by Morgan Rogers a little early on in the game but was solid enough. Good in the air and on the ground.

Cedric Kipre 8

Lost count of the number of crosses he slid and got in front of in the first half. He also had a rasping shot saved by Chris Maxwell which looked certain to be a goal.

Mahlon Romeo 8

Has been hard done by not to have had lots of game-time under Sabri Lamouchi, but he rarely lets you down. Stuck a lovely ball on Wickham's head for the first.

Ryan Wintle 8

Returned to his old stomping ground and put in a seamless performance in the middle of the park. His delivery into the box was noticeably better.

Romaine Sawyers 7

Started a little shakily and put in a couple of errant passes, but settled as the scoreline improved. Another tidy display.

Joe Ralls 9

Put in at left wing-back in the absence of Callum O'Dowda and put in his performance of the season. He was up and down that left flank like no one's business. Put in excellent crosses, linked play well and defended well. Deserved his goal, which he took brilliantly.

Jaden Philogene 8

Another twinkle-toed display. Sat a few defenders down with another impressive running performance. Had one drilled effort in the first half saved by Maxwell.

Connor Wickham 9 (star man)

Well, what a week he's had! After the 'laughing gas' video, he hit back in the perfect way. Outjumped Curtis Nelson to score the first and then assisted the second and third. A nigh-on perfect outing for the striker.

Sory Kaba 8

He just has that knack of getting in the right area at the right time. Latched on to Wickham's lobbed pass and rounded the keeper to score City's second. Another top display from the big man.

Subs

Andy Rinomhota (Sawyers 64) 6 - Didn't do a huge deal when he came on but City needed legs in there as Blackpool tried to kick on.

Rubin Colwill (Wickham 70) 7 - Looked good when he came on. Kept the ball really well and got Cardiff up the pitch once or twice when they needed it most.

Isaak Davies (Kaba 84) NA

Mark Harris (Philogene 85) NA
