'Brilliant buy' - Arsenal fans name next transfer target after Liverpool draw with Brighton

The January transfer window is not one in which Arsenal are usually busy.

In the previous two January windows, they have only completed loan signings - Pablo Mari and Cedric Soares last year and the fateful move for Denis Suarez the year before.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has been a successful January transfer signing though, having joined the year before.

The Gunners are 13th in the Premier League table after a slow start to the season and If they continue to struggle in December and do not start moving up the table, January signings may be on the agenda.

Lyon playmaker Houssem Aouar was linked in the summer, while the Gunners continue to scout Red Bull Salzburg midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai, who scored a hat-trick in the Austrian League on Saturday.

Creativity has been a problem for the Gunners since Mesut Ozil has been sidelined by Mikel Arteta, and Szoboszlai or Aouar would certainly improve that aspect of Arsenal's play.

However, there is another name the Arsenal fans have thrown into the mix - Yves Bissouma.

The Malian has enjoyed a good season with the Seagulls so far and was dominant as the Seagulls held Liverpool to a 1-1 draw at the Amex Stadium on Saturday lunchtime.

His display led to a number of Arsenal supporters calling for the board to complete his signing in January, or next summer.

Supporters watched his performance against the Premier League champions and were quick to point out how he could lineup alongside Thomas Partey in the heart of the Arsenal midfield.

According to the CIES Football Observatory, Bissouma would be much cheaper than Szoboszlai or Aouar, with a value of between £9million and £13.5million.
