A savvy shopper reveals how she clothes feeling and smelling amazing each wash without spending cash on expensive detergents.
Posting on a Facebook cleaning tips group, Emma Louise said she simply adds a cap of white vinegar to her washing.
Sister title Manchester Evening News reports; "Well after reading all your posts lately about ditching the softener and adding a capful of white vinegar to the washing instead, I jumped on the bandwagon and I am AMAZED - my washing has never smelt so nice or clean! And my washing machine is sparkling."
The poster then added a note, saying: "Any white vinegar is fine but I used this one, in Aldi at the minute 79p I think it was.. about an egg cup sized amount straight into the drawer in place of softener, and I use liquid tabs so they are in the drum.
"There is no vinegar smell on clothes I just get a much much stronger smell of detergent. I have put my heating on slightly tonight and my house smells amazing."
Other shoppers began to share their own experiences of trying the hack - with over 1,500 people liking the post and 1,300 commenting on it.
In the comments section under the post, one Facebook user wrote: " I use distilled white vinegar same effect best washing ever."
