Brighton without key player as former Liverpool favourite set for return

Brighton could be without one key player when they welcome Liverpool this afternoon.

The Reds take on the Seagulls in their next Premier League outing, and will be looking to do better than their last match.

Jurgen Klopp’s side go into the game on the back of a 1-0 defeat to Inter Milan in the Champions League, but still progressed to the quarter-final.

Klopp has already stated that Roberto Firmino is back available after returning from injury, but kept his cards close to his chest on some other absentees.

The Liverpool boss explained how Covid had once again hit the Reds camp, but did not state which players were affected.

For Brighton, they could be without some of their most important players when Liverpool arrive.

Adam Lallana, who spent five years at Anfield, is expected to be available after returning from injury last week to feature on the bench in their defeat to Newcastle.

Enock Mwepu, who scored a long-range strike in the reverse fixture against the Reds, is set to return after recovering from a hamstring injury.

It will be the same for 19-year-old winger Jeremy Sarmiento, who has also suffered from a hamstring problem but is expected to be back available.

However, Seagulls boss Graham Potter will be without one of his key players.

Centre-back Adam Webster is set to miss the clash against Liverpool with a groin injury, having been sidelined for the last four league matches.

Potter said in his press conference : "Only Adam Webster is the one away. Everyone else will be available for selection."

This will likely leave Potter with Shane Duffy and Lewis Dunk as his two central defenders against Liverpool this afternoon.
