Brighton vs Watford: Josh King gives Xisco Munoz ‘perfect’ selection headache

Watford boss Xisco Munoz is relishing having a selection headache in attack, with Josh King fit and ready to make his debut against Brighton on Saturday.

King joined Watford earlier this summer on a free transfer after his contract with Everton expired at the end of June.

The striker, however, was denied making his debut during last weekend’s 3-2 win over Aston Villa due to a groin issue.

King has now recovered and he is hoping to make his Watford bow tomorrow when the Hornets travel to Brighton.

“About King, for me, he is a very good player,” said Xisco. “I think in him we have a different striker to what we used last week.

“I think it is perfect for me when you have different possibilities to use in different situations in the game.

“King is fit. I am happy because he is recovering and worked very hard in the last weeks. We will see what happens on Saturday.”

King may have to settle for a spot on the bench, with Emmanuel Dennis hoping to keep his starting spot after scoring last week.

Right-back Kiko Femenia is due to return to the squad too, but midfielder Juraj Kucka is a doubt with a thigh injury. Saturday’s game is also too early for new loan signing, Ozan Tufan, who joined on Thursday from Fenerbahce.

“I am very happy with him because he is a good player and he can give us one more option in the squad,” Xisco added.
