Brighton vs Tottenham – Premier League LIVE: Latest score and goal updates from the Amex
Tottenham head to the south coast to face Brighton in desperate need of a positive result following three straight defeats.
Mauricio Pochettino has been reaching for the positives this week but knows only points will silence those questioning his methods.
For Brighton this is something of a free hit and after beating Manchester United at home last month, Chris Hughton will be hopeful his side can repeat the trick.
Tottenham take the points but Brighton fought all the way to the end, they got a consolation goal but Spurs played effective football, got two goals and made Brighton come at them
There's about 60 secs left in the game, Kane has a shot in the 18 yard box that's saved again. Brighton break down the right and the ball comes to Knockaert, he cuts inside when he gets to the box and fires a powerful shot into the back of the net
Harry Kane comes again, he bombs into the 18-yard box and hits a left footed strike at Ryan, the goalkeeper fumbles it but Lamela can't reach it before it's recovered
Lamela gets away from Dunk and works the ball into the area, he has options to his left but he chooses to shoot instead, Ryan makes a comfortable save though
Brighton's problem has been in the final ball, they've broken Spurs down on a number of occasions but they haven't committed the men going forward to challenge the goalkeeper
Brighton have looked sharper in the second half but that second goal may just have taken the wind out of their sails, every minute that ticks by makes it harder and harder for them to get back into this game
Danny Rose gets down the left wing yet again and he brings the ball in towards the box, he looks up and hits a low cross to Lamela who shoots first time with his left foot and the ball curls away from Ryan to double Tottenham's lead
Our own Jack Pitt-Brooke gives his verdict on the game:
"There is a bit more room now that Spurs are ahead with Brighton starting to push up the pitch. But that conviction and confidence to play the right final pass is still lacking as Spurs push for a second. I do think there will be more goals though because Brighton have no option but to increase the tempo."
Bissouma brings down Danny Rose and gets a yellow card, Spurs hit the free kick forward towards Harry Kane, he switches the play back to Rose on the left and Spurs win a corner
Brighton are throwing everything at Spurs, they're defending with strength and forcing Tottenham off the ball, if they keep up this tempo they may scratch out a goal.
Oh no! Knockaert makes a great run into the box and a beautiful pass intercepts the defence and falls to Knockaert, he's one on one with Gazzaniga and the keeper saves it. He should have scored and Brighton should be level
Danny Rose makes an impressive run into the box from the left hand side, he should have given the ball earlier but he wet alone and Duffy made a last ditch challenge won the ball and hurt himself
Kane gets the ball in mid-field, he plays it to Moura who runs in forward before giving it to Eriksen, he moves the ball onto his right foot and fires off a shot, narrowly beating the outside post.
Trippier pulls March down on the edge of his own area and gets a yellow card, Brighton with the free kick, Knockaert whips it in and Vertonghen tussles with Murray bewfore the ball goes out of play
