Brighton vs Man City prediction: Sergio Aguero backed to score at the AMEX

Man City travel to East Sussex as champions and against a Brighton & Hove Albion side who have secured Premier League football for another season.

City are the favourites to win at 9/20 with Betfred while Brighton are 6/1 to get their first league win since April 1989 while a draw is 18/5 - something that has not happened between the two sides since 1984.

A convincing City win is on the cards here considering their recent head-to-head form in the Premier League.

Brighton have lost all seven of their Premier League meetings with Man City by an aggregate score of 21-2 - with the Albion leading a grand total of 83 seconds in these games.

The hosts have won their final home league game in just one of the last six seasons - drawing twice or losing three - doing so against Man United in their first Premier League campaign of 2017-18.

Tips

  • Sergio Aguero to score anytime - 21/20
  • Man City to win and 2.5 goals - 6/5

Man City played their part in a seven-goal thrill against Newcastle United on Friday and another high-scoring win is expected at the Amex.

Guardiola's side have won 20 of their last 21 away games but have only kept one clean sheet in their last six while Brighton have failed to keep a clean sheet in three in their last four Premier League games so both teams to score at 10/11 seems promising too.

The potential of a high-scoring game means they will need strikers to perform on the day and Sergio Aguero can step up to finally put that panenka penalty behind him.

His form against the south coast club speaks for itself - Aguero has scored five goals in four matches against Brighton so based on that we are due a goal from the Argentinian in what could be his last ever Premier League away game for City.
