Premier League full-time reports:

Brighton 2-2 Tottenham – Thomas Frank certainly would have taken a point at 2-0 down in this one. Xavi Simons made a difference coming off the bench as Brighton struggled to see out the game. John Brewin has the lowdown:

Burnley 1-1 Nottingham Forest – Ange Postecoglou picks up his first point as Forest manager in the pouring rain but his wait for a first win goes on. Scott Parker can add another point to towards survival. Dominic Booth was there:

West Ham 1-2 Crystal Palace – The pressure grows ever further on Graham Potter and the West Ham board after pre-match protests. Tyrick Mitchell on the scoresheet is a rarity. Jacob Steinberg watched on:

Wolves 1-3 Leeds – Not a great day for Vítor Pereira, who signed a new three-year contract this week. His side have now lost all five of their league games this season. Dominic Calvert-Lewin helped Leeds towards three precious points. Ben Fisher reports:

Blackburn v Ipswich has been abandoned due to a wet pitch. Must have been some deluge. Blackburn were leading 1-0, with Ipswich down to 10 men.

A couple of scores from Scotland:

Dundee 3-2 Livingston

League Cup
Aberdeen 0-1 Motherwell

Championship full-time scores

Derby 0-1 Preston
Hull 3-1 Southampton
Norwich 2-3 Wrexham
Portsmouth 0-2 Sheffield Wed
Sheffield Utd 0-1 Charlton

Blackburn 1-0 Ipswich has still not restarted after the referee brought the players off due to a wet pitch.

“It’s 1.30 in the morning here in Brisbane,” writes Phil. “I’ve been up for 21 hours, worked a ten hour day, seen one of the greatest punk bands live for the first time in forty years and have the recurring disappointment of Norwich City being not entirely good to accompany me to sleep.” Ah, football.

Full-time scores

Brighton 2-2 Tottenham (Minteh 8, Ayari 31; Richarlison 43, Van Hecke 82og)
Burnley 1-1 Nottingham Forest (Anthony 20; Williams 2)
West Ham 1-2 Crystal Palace (Bowen 50; Mateta 38, Mitchell 68)
Wolves 1-3 Leeds (Krejci 8; Calvert-Lewin 31, Stach 39, Okafor 45+1)

Brighton 2-2 Spurs: The Spurs corner that comes to nothing. Goal-kick to Brighton.

Brighton 2-2 Spurs: Two minutes of stoppage time remain at the Amex as both Brighton and Spurs go for a winner. The visitors have a corner …

Rain has stopped play at Ewood Park. Blackburn 1-0 Ipswich has been paused with 10 minutes to play due to a wet pitch.

Sheffield United, minutes away from their first points of the season, have conceded. Isaac Ofaofe seems to have snatched it for Charlton! 1-0 in the Championship at Bramall Lane.

No penalty.

Brighton 2-2 Spurs: Huge shouts for a penalty after Simons goes down under the challenge of Coppola in the Brighton box. The referee gives a goal-kick but VAR is having a look …

Updated

GOAL! Brighton 2-2 Tottenham (Van Hecke 82og)

Spurs are level! Kudus sends a curling cross into the penalty area. Palhinha goes for it but it comes off Van Hecke and goes in at the near post! Not much the defender could do about that.

Updated

And at Molineux, there is plenty of mumbling and grumbling among the home crowd with Wolves still trailing Leeds 3-1. There has been talk this week of a new deal for their manager Vítor Pereira, who is yet to get a point on the board this season.

Still 1-1 between Burnley and Nottingham Forest at Turf Moor after goals from Anthony and Williams in the first half. The bucketing rain has been the talking point of the second half, by all accounts.

Brighton 2-1 Spurs: Danny Welbeck and Diego Coppola are on for Brighton.

Latest Premier League scores with 15-20 minutes to go:

Brighton 2-1 Tottenham (Minteh 8, Ayari 31; Richarlison 43)
Burnley 1-1 Nottingham Forest (Anthony 20; Williams 2)
West Ham 1-2 Crystal Palace (Bowen 50; Mateta 38, Mitchell 68)
Wolves 1-3 Leeds (Krejci 8; Calvert-Lewin 31, Stach 39, Okafor 45+1)

Brighton 2-1 Spurs: Brennan Johnson comes on for Wilson Odobert, who didn’t really get going this afternoon on his first start of the season.

Brighton 2-1 Spurs: Great chance for Simons! The Dutchman can only drag his shot wide though. You’d expect him to hit the target.

Updated

GOAL! West Ham 1-2 Crystal Palace (Mitchell 68)

Palace’s left wing-back powers a volley past Alphonse Areola to give Oliver Glasner’s side the lead once more! He hadn’t scored since the season before last.

Updated

Kylian Mbappé is on the scoresheet at the Bernabéu – Real Madrid 2-0 Espanyol.

Brighton 2-1 Spurs: Xavi Simons is on for Bentancur as Frank looks to add a creative spark to his side. James Milner has also emerged from the bench to make his 641st Premier League appearance – 12 behind Gareth Barry’s record now.

Brighton 2-1 Spurs: Kadioglu goes down holding his throat after bumping into Richarlison as a ball came down from the sky. Brighton are trying to rile up their opponents and even Frank appears a touch rattled.

Brighton 2-1 Spurs: Lewis Dunk goes for goal from a free-kick inside his own half! It doesn’t sail too far over Vicario’s crossbar, clipping the roof of the net. Audacious!

I probably could have written those two previous posts this morning …

Brighton 2-1 Spurs: Cristian Romero gets involved in some argy-bargy.

Harry Kane completes his hat-trick at Hoffenheim. Bayern 3-0 up. Two penalties from England’s captain today.

Updated

GOAL! West Ham 1-1 Crystal Palace (Bowen 50)

Jarrod Bowen heads in Malick Diouf’s corner to level the scores at the London Stadium. Maybe that will lift the mood.

Updated

Brighton 2-1 Spurs: Fabian Hürzeler has made a change at half-time, with Diego Gómez on for Carlos Baleba.

Second half begins

All four Premier League games are back under way. There were 10 goals in the first half – more where that came from?

Harry Kane has scored both of Bayern Munich’s goals at Hoffenheim – they lead 2-0 midway through the second half.

Real Madrid are one goal to the good in the first half against Espanyol thanks to Éder Militão.

Half-time in the Championship

Blackburn 0-0 Ipswich
Derby 0-1 Preston (Devine 29)
Hull 1-0 Southampton (Joseph 22)
Norwich 1-0 Wrexham (Stacey 39)
Portsmouth 0-1 Sheffield Wed (Bannan 12)
Sheffield Utd 0-0 Charlton

Half-time scores

Brighton 2-1 Tottenham (Minteh 8, Ayari 31; Richarlison 43)
Burnley 1-1 Nottingham Forest (Anthony 20; Williams 2)
West Ham 0-1 Crystal Palace (Mateta 38)
Wolves 1-3 Leeds (Krejci 8; Calvert-Lewin 31, Stach 39, Okafor 45+1)

We’re certainly not lacking for goals. I need a cuppa.

Updated

GOAL! Wolves 1-3 Leeds (Okafor 45+1)

It gets worse for Wolves at Molineux. Noah Okafor finds some space on the counterattack and beats Sá left-footed for his first Leeds goal! What a response to going behind from Farke’s side.

Updated

GOAL! Brighton 2-1 Tottenham (Richarlison 43)

Spurs find a way through! Richarlison manages to get a shot away while on the floor in the Brighton area and Verbruggen cannot keep it out. Bentancur and Kudus were involved in the buildup. Game on!

Updated

GOAL! Wolves 1-2 Leeds (Stach 39)

Leeds have turned it around at Molineux! Big Anton Stach smashes a free-kick from 25 yards out and José Sá has no answer.

Updated

“The Hammers are especially frustrating,” says Kári Tulinius via email. “They look like a good team, with lots of smart movement that sets up interesting passing angles, but when it comes time to pull the trigger, it’s either a pass backwards or to nobody.”

GOAL! West Ham 0-1 Crystal Palace (Mateta 38)

That will not help the mood at the London Stadium. It’s been coming – Jean-Philippe Mateta reacts first at a corner after Marc Guéhi’s header comes off the crossbar.

Updated

West Ham 0-0 Crystal Palace: Not a classic so far. Daichi Kamada has fluffed a golden chance for visitors, heading wide from four yards out.

GOAL! Wolves 1-1 Leeds (Calvert-Lewin 31)

It’s a first Leeds goal for Dominic Calvert-Lewin! He heads in Bogle’s cross as the visitors score their first goal since the opening weekend.

Updated

GOAL! Brighton 2-0 Tottenham (Ayari 31)

It’s a screamer! Vicario has no answer to Yasin Ayari’s long-range strike as Brighton double their lead. The Spurs goalkeeper will be disappointed with that one.

Updated

Latest scores from the Championship after 30 minutes:

Blackburn 0-0 Ipswich
Derby 0-1 Preston
Hull 1-0 Southampton
Norwich 0-0 Wrexham
Portsmouth 0-1 Sheffield Wed
Sheffield Utd 0-0 Charlton

The early kick-offs in the Championship yielded wins for Birmingham (late on) and QPR (not that late on). Here’s a quick summary:

Brighton 1-0 Spurs: The hosts go close as Vicario denies Ayari before Gruda sends a wayward shot off target.

Fair play to Burnley. It looked for a moment like they were wobbling after conceding such an early goal, but their pressing and passing has been near-immaculate and they very much deserve that equaliser. Quilindschy Hartman has been a handful at left wing-back and it was his cross that fell kindly for Jaidon Anthony to steer home, making it 1-1. Game on at Turf Moor. It’s been very watchable stuff.

Brighton 1-0 Spurs: Good chance for Spurs as Richarlison finds the side netting.

GOAL! Burnley 1-1 Nottingham Forest (Anthony 20)

Jaidon Anthony beats Matz Sels and Oleksandr Zinchenko cannot prevent his effort finding the back of the net. All square again at Turf Moor!

Updated

Brighton 1-0 Spurs: Vicario bails the visitors out as Brighton threaten again to break in behind their high line. Thomas Frank is shouting instructions from the touchline.

Latest scores after 20 minutes in the Premier League:

Brighton 1-0 Tottenham (Minteh 8)
Burnley 0-1 Nottingham Forest (Williams 2)
West Ham 0-0 Crystal Palace
Wolves 1-0 Leeds (Krejci 8)

Brighton 1-0 Spurs: 15 minutes gone on the south coast and Spurs have looked bright despite going behind. Their high line proved costly for Minteh’s opener – a bit of throwback to the last couple of seasons maybe ...

Brighton 1-0 Spurs: A corner goes to waste for Brighton as Bentancur heads away at the near post.

GOAL! Wolves 1-0 Leeds (Krejci 8)

Ladislav Krejci has scored his first Wolves goal! The summer signing from Girona collects a through ball and produces a lob to beat Karl Darlow.

Updated

GOAL! Brighton 1-0 Tottenham (Minteh 8)

Spurs go behind! Minteh takes on Udogie and bears down on Vicario’s goal. The winger is calmness personified, sits the goalkeeper down and finishes into an empty net. VAR is having a look … goal given!

Updated

It’s a dream start for Nottingham Forest at Burnley – although it’s not come in traditional ‘Ange-ball’ style. A corner was swung in by Douglas Luiz, the Clarets half-cleared and Neco Williams thundered home from just inside the box. “Neco! Neco!” is the shout from the rowdy visiting fans. Their side have started in superb fashion, which is just what Postecoglou needed after that midweek Carabao Cup exit to Swansea. After two defeats in his first two games, is the Australian on course for victory today?

Brighton 0-0 Spurs: The visitors are looking dangerous as Udogie delivers a threatening cross that Bergvall almost gets on the end of.

That’s Williams’ third Premier League goal of his career. He scored in last season’s 7-0 drubbing of Brighton.

GOAL! Burnley 0-1 Nottingham Forest (Williams 2)

It didn’t take long for Postecoglou’s side to break the deadlock at Turf Moor. Burnley fail to deal with a corner and Neco Williams pounces!

Kick-off

It’s go-time in the Premier League’s four 3pm kick-offs:

Brighton v Tottenham
Burnley v Nottingham Forest
West Ham v Crystal Palace
Wolves v Leeds

Enough of sporting directors, though. The teams are heading out at the Amex, Turf Moor, the London Stadium and Molineux. Updates to follow!

Let’s head to the Amex Stadium, where there’s been a substitution in the boardroom this week, as Ed Aarons writes:

It has been a busy week on the south coast. The former Arsenal interim sporting director Jason Ayto was confirmed as David Weir’s successor on Monday after the Scot’s surprise departure, having spent seven years at Brighton. Ayto is credited with playing a major role in bringing Martín Zubimendi to north London after stepping in to replace Edu last year and the Brighton owner, Tony Bloom, hopes the 40-year-old’s arrival will give the club “new leadership and direction”.

Wolves are one of two teams in England’s top four tiers yet to register a point this season – the other being (now) Chris Wilder’s Sheffield United.

Harry Paterson has been writing about their predicament this week:

Vítor Pereira lost seven first-team regulars in the summer window and seems to be grappling with many of the same problems he faced when he first took charge. He has made more substitutions (20) than any other manager this season. The team look unsettled at the back, roles are undefined and players seem to be learning on the job.

EFL full-time scores. A few late goals in here.

Championship
Birmingham 1-0 Swansea (Dykes 90+4)
Leicester 0-0 Coventry
QPR 1-0 Stoke (Vale 75)

League One
Blackpool 1-0 Barnsley (Brown 90+8)
Bolton 4-1 Wigan (Gale 15, Forss 20 50, Burstow 42; Mullin 54)
Lincoln 3-1 Luton (House 12 90, Obikwu 85; Clark 77)

League Two
Cambridge 2-1 Fleetwood (Mayor 67, Lavery 69; Davies 62)
Harrogate 2-0 Shrewsbury (Muldoon 65, McAleny 87)

West Ham fans have been holding a march in protest against the running of the club. Thousands of supporters are thought to have taken part ahead of their game at the London Stadium.

Full time: Liverpool 2-1 Everton

All over at Anfield. David Moyes’s side made a good fist of it at Anfield after going two goals behind in the first half courtesy of Ryan Gravenberch and Hugo Ekitiké.

Idrissa Gueye halved the deficit but ultimately the champions held on to maintain their 100% record this season.
