Brighton under pressure with difficult matches ahead - Hughton

Soccer Football - Premier League - Brighton & Hove Albion vs Leicester City - The American Express Community Stadium, Brighton, Britain - March 31, 2018 Brighton manager Chris Hughton

(Reuters) - Brighton and Hove Albion are under pressure, manager Chris Hughton said on Thursday, with a tough Premier League climax that will see them face Manchester United, Manchester City and Liverpool in their final three games of the season.

The promoted south coast club also play Tottenham Hotspur later this month and Hughton said that his players had to embrace the challenge to stay in the division.

Brighton are currently 13th in the league with 34 points, six points above the drop zone, and Hughton stressed the importance of picking up victories in their other games.

"It's a tough end to the season, but an exciting one as well," he told reporters ahead of Saturday's home match against 16th-placed Huddersfield Town.

"Yes, it does put a little more pressure on other results and I don't think you can afford to go into any game thinking you can't get a result. That's the way we've been throughout the season and that's the way we'll continue to be.

"Of course there are only a certain amount of games left where we are at home and I think it puts a bit more pressure on because it's a home game."

Midfielder Dale Stephens could return against Huddersfield after stepping up his recovery from a hamstring injury.
