Brighton striker has message for his team-mates and fans ahead of Crystal Palace clash

Brighton & Hove Albion striker Neal Maupay insists that a win against Crystal Palace this weekend would be "massive" for the Seagulls.

The Eagles travel to face arch-rivals Brighton at the Amex Stadium on Saturday, with the two sides separated by five points in the Premier League after Palace's win against Newcastle United at Selhurst Park last weekend.

But Brighton are unbeaten in their last three matches against Palace in the top flight, with the Seagulls doing the double over the Eagles last season in the league, before a 1-1 draw at Selhurst Park in December.

And Maupay, who scored the opening goal in the draw in south London, is hoping to cause Crystal Palace more problems this weekend after netting his eighth goal of the season in a 1-1 draw with Sheffield United at Bramall Lane last Saturday.

"It was an amazing atmosphere and the away end was packed," he told The Argus .

"Our fans turned up in their numbers to support us and sung the whole way through, which was a really good feeling.

"I scored in front of them. I know it is a big game for the fans and for us as well, because we want to make them proud and happy. It is going to be really interesting to play my first derby at home. A win would be massive for us."
