Brighton striker finally joins Luton as Southend make appointment - League One roundup

Southend appoint Bond

Southend United have appointed 61-year-old Kevin Bond as their new manager on a short-term deal, the BBC reports .

The Shrimpers sacked Chris Powell after going 11 games without a win and with the club hovering perilously above the relegation zone.

Bond has spent much of his career as Harry Redknapp's number two at several clubs, with his last managerial role in England at Bournemouth coming to an end in 2008.

He takes charge until the end of the season.

Bowyer renews with Bradford

Bradford boss Gary Bowyer has signed a new two-year deal with the club.

The 47-year-old was only appointed manager on a short-term deal last month, but despite losing four of his five games since he has done enough to convince the club's bosses that he is the man for the job.

Bradford are marooned at the bottom of the league, six points from safety.

Striker finally joins Luton after injury

Brighton striker Aaron Connolly has finally joined League One leaders Luton after injury.

The 19-year-old signed for the Hatters on the January window's deadline day, but had an injury at the time.

It was agreed he would not actually leave Brighton before making his comeback, the BBC reports .

Two months on, Connolly scored on his return for Brighton in a friendly and has now joined up with table-topping Luton for the run-in.

Peterborough stadium naming rights sold

Peterborough United have sold the naming rights to their stadium for a cool £2m.

The 10-year deal will see London Road renamed the Weston Homes Stadium on June 1.

Weston Homes is a property developer and will pay in instalments, the BBC reports .
