Ben White has insisted he is not concentrating on his immediate future despite interest from Manchester United.
MEN Sport understands that United are keen to sign a centre-back this summer and hold an interest in Pau Torres and Real Madrid defender Raphael Varane as well as White.
United have been tracking the 23-year-old's progress with Brighton & Hove Albion in his debut Premier League season after his success in the Championship on loan at Leeds United.
The MEN reported at the start of April that White sees himself progressing to a larger club, such as United, though Brighton are keen to retain his services, having signed a new deal at the start of the season.
The Seagulls would likely demand a fee in excess of £35million for an academy graduate that is highly rated by the club and other Premier League clubs.
Brighton rejected three bids for White in the summer, with the highest reported at £25million.
Discussing his future, the young defender admitted he is only focussing on the here and now.
"I don't really think too much about the future," he told SussexLive.
"I like to assess what's happening now and take it game by game.
"In the Championship it was an amazing year. Each game was unbelievable. Now in the Premier League with Brighton, it is the same, every game is important for me and obviously the team."
Speaking in the summer, White's agent, Alex Levack, said: "When a football club don't want to sell it's very difficult.
"There was a tinge of disappointment but that passed quickly, Ben's head is fully at Brighton and he wants to get cracking in the Premier League now."
