(Reuters) - Brighton and Hove Albion have signed Malian midfielder Yves Bissouma from French club Lille on a five-year contract, the Premier League side has said.

The 21-year-old, who has earned 13 caps for his country, made 55 appearances for Lille after making his senior debut for the Ligue 1 side in 2016.

"He is someone with good technical ability on the ball, and has good experience at a relatively young age, after playing regularly in a competitive French league for the past two seasons," Brighton manager Chris Hughton told the club website https://www.brightonandhovealbion.com.

Bissouma is Brighton's sixth signing in the current window as the Seagulls aim to improve on their 15th-placed league finish from last season.
