Brighton manager Graham Potter makes Liverpool quartet claim after Diogo Jota transfer

Liverpool quartet Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino, Mohamed Salah and Diogo Jota have been hailed as 'arguably the best front four in world football' by Brighton and Hove Albion manager Graham Potter.

In his pre-match press conference ahead of the visit of Liverpool, Potter outlined just how good he thinks they are.

He explained: "Jota has settled in really well there and he fits what they are trying to do. He gives them another dimension and allows them to play with a front-four with Salah up front and Firmino as a number 10, that can work.

"They have got probably the best front four in world football, arguably, so credit to Liverpool, they have identified someone they think can help them strengthen and I think he has done that.

"They are a formidable attacking unit - and the team behind them, of course - but those front four very dangerous."

Brighton boss Potter was also asked about the broadcast schedule that Klopp has been critical of over the last few weeks, with this match being played in the 12.30pm slot after Liverpool played in the Champions League on Wednesday night.

Potter added: "We were asked to vote about how we felt we could make the problem a little easier and it was felt that five subs was the sensible thing to do, bearing in mind we did that at the back end of last year.

"It is already a shortened season, they play more games in the international break and we are going into winter where there is more chance of positive Covid tests and more self-isolation.

"The fact that we are in a lockdown situation means from a mental health perspective of the players they are not seeing their family and that can be challenging if they are not playing.

"That is why I thought the five-sub rule was a sensible one. In this country we play a lot [of fixtures] but everything has been made worse because of the circumstances of a global pandemic.

"We just have to suck it up as best we can but I totally get Jurgen's point. I understand and sympathise with it."
