Graham Potter has played down talk of Ben White moving to Liverpool in January.
The former Leeds United loanee has become a regular for the Seagulls this season after they rejected the Whites' attempts to sign him permanently in the summer.
Yet it remains to be seen how long White remains on the south coast for, with Liverpool strongly linked with the 23-year-old.
Virgil van Dijk's injury has led many to argue that Jurgen Klopp's side need to sign a defender in January and, after his form at Elland Road last season, White has been touted as a potential target.
Yet Potter says that any speculation is just football noise with no grounding.
"I think it is a bit like it was at the start of the season," he told the Mirror. "All sorts of talk about him doing this, him doing that, and it is generated by outside, by outside of our control really.
"It is part of the football noise. The transfer window closed last week and we are already having conversations around transfer speculation. It’s just the way it is.
"I know he is level-headed enough to not let it affect him. I think at this level you have to know it is part of the territory.
"It is part of the job of being a footballer, while it’s part of what you have to deal with. Consistently all he has done is get on with his football.
"He has come into training, tried to be professional, tried his best, and tried to play football. I have no concerns about Ben."
Potter refused to be drawn further when asked if reports that Brighton have slapped a £50m valuation on White was correct.
He added: "I haven’t heard anything about that. Apparently if it comes in the media, it must be true, eh?"
