Brighton 'hoping to beat Manchester United to Moises Caicedo transfer'

Brighton are hoping to seal the signing of Manchester United target Moises Caicedo after holding talks with the youngsters, reports claim.

MEN Sport reported last month that Caicedo was a target for United as part of their new recruitment strategy.

United targeted the 19-year-old to join in the January transfer window due to new work permit regulations following Brexit.

The Reds have switched their focus on signing the highest-rated teenage talents from around the world.

Caicedo's current club, Independiente del Valle, confirmed the youngster is set to leave but denied any contact with United.

According to The Guardian, Brighton are now the frontrunners to sign the midfielder after holding talks over a move to the AMEX Stadium.

Brighton are believed to have a good working relationship with the Ecuadorian side after signing Billy Arce from Independiente in 2018.

West Ham, Everton and Newcastle have also show an interest in the youngster who has been capped four times by Ecuador.

The report states United have not been close to completing a deal for Caicedo since their interest was confirmed.
