Leeds United fans have had to collectively pinch themselves over the news that Luiz Felipe is a reported target for a move to Elland Road.
The Whites have today been heavily linked with a move for the highly-rated Lazio defender, having reportedly made a bid of £27m.
Many fans could not hide their joy over the prospect of signing the 23-year-old, particularly having so far been frustrated in their pursuit to re-sign Ben White.
Reports today claim White will sign a new contract at Brighton but Leeds fans have quickly turned their attentions to Felipe.
Competition is high for Felipe, however, with PSG and Barcelona also linked to the 23-year-old.
Yet the Whites have reportedly tried to steal a march on their illustrious rivals by contacting Lazio sporting director Igli Tare.
Reports in Italy claim Tare has been contacted by Lorenzo Tonetti, the right-hand man of Leeds owner Andrea Radrizzani.
Lazio are keen for around £7m more than the £27m on the table in order to sell Felipe.
Sao Paulo-born Felipe came through the youth ranks at Brazilian club Ituano before moving to Lazio in 2016 and being loaned to Salernitana.
He has subsequently made more than 60 appearances in Serie A and was coveted by the Italian national side before declaring his intentions to play for the country of his birth.
At 23, the Brazil youth international still has the potential to improve, and his quickness and ability on the ball have won him many fans in Italy.
His ability on the ball has left many fans speculating that he would fit in well under Marcelo Bielsa and mean the Whites would no longer be searching for a replacement to Ben White.
