Brighton handed injury boost over key man ahead of Crystal Palace clash

Brighton & Hove Albion manager Graham Potter has confirmed a big injury boost ahead of the clash with arch-rivals Crystal Palace this weekend.

The Seagulls host the Eagles at the Amex Stadium on Saturday, with Brighton still searching for their first win in the Premier League in 2020.

Brighton currently sit five points behind their arch-rivals in the table, after Palace's 1-0 win against Newcastle United at Selhurst Park last weekend.

But Potter has confirmed that midfielder Dale Stephens is back in contention to feature for the Seagulls, after recovering from a hamstring injury.

"Dale Stephens has trained this week and is available for the game this weekend," Potter said, speaking at his pre-match press conference.

Stephens has been a key man for the Seagulls so far this season, featuring in 24 games for Potter's side.

However, he has not featured since the 3-3 draw with West Ham United at the London Stadium on Saturday, February 1.

Brighton will, however, be without Jose Izquierdo, with Potter confirming that the winger, who is a long-term absentee for Brighton with a knee injury, remains on the sidelines.

Meanwhile, Potter was asked at his press conference what his message would be to the fans ahead of the game.

In reply, he said: "My message to the fans is to enjoy the game and get behind the team in the right way.

"They can help us to get three points, and we know what it means to them."
