Brighton fans fume as agent reveals Ben White's ‘disappointment’ at failed Leeds United transfer

The agent of former Leeds United loanee Ben White says the defender was ‘disappointed’ not to seal a return to Elland Road.

After winning the Championship title and promotion with Leeds, White became a prime target for Marcelo Bielsa this summer.

But he didn’t get his man, White ending transfer speculation by penning a new four-year deal with parent club Brighton.

The news of that new contract was a blow to Leeds fans, who took to White last season.

And it seems that disappointment was also felt by the player himself with agent Alex Levack revealing White’s mindset as the transfer saga concluded.

"He enjoyed his time at Leeds incredibly,” he told Sky Sports. “They looked after him so well, the fans were fantastic to him. But when a football club don't want to sell it's very difficult.

"There was a tinge of disappointment but that passed quickly, Ben's head is fully at Brighton and he wants to get cracking in the Premier League now."

As you might imagine, Brighton fans are not too happy with those comments.

Here’s what they said on Twitter.

White played in every one of Leeds’ 46 Championship games last season.

The spell at Elland Road was the 22-year-old’s third loan move, previously spending time with Newport County and Peterborough United.
