Brighton dealt double injury blow ahead of Liverpool

Brighton are sweating over the fitness of two of their key players ahead of their clash against Liverpool.

The Reds take on the Seagulls in their next match in the Premier League on Wednesday night, and do so in a good run of form.

After a blip in results over the majority of January, Jurgen Klopp’s side have responded with back to back wins in the capital against Tottenham and West Ham in recent days, scoring six goals in the process.

Brighton are in a buoyant mood themselves after they beat Spurs on Sunday night to claim their first home league win of the campaign.

Two players who featured in that game and did well, Alexis MacAllister and Joel Veltman, are doubts to face Liverpool on Wednesday.

Veltman was substituted at the Amex Stadium, while McAllister played the full 90 minutes, and manager Graham Potter has confirmed that they picked up knocks and will be assessed closer to the game.

"Alexis Mac Allister has a slight issue in his glutes, so we’ll see how he is,” said Potter, speaking in his pre-match press conference.

He added: "Joel Veltman also felt a bit of tightness, but we’ll give them some time before we make those decisions.

"We have no other issues from the game yesterday."
