Brighton have confirmed a Covid-19 outbreak which has thrown their Premier League fixture against Manchester United into doubt.
After it was confirmed United's game against Brentford — originally scheduled for Tuesday night at 7.30pm — would not go ahead due to a covid outbreak, there are additional concerns for the weekend's game at Old Trafford.
After heading to west London as part of a full midweek schedule, United were due to welcome Brighton to town for a lunchtime kick-off on Saturday, December 18 (12.30pm).
However, the recent spread of the Omicron variant of Covid-19 means that United might, in the worst-case scenario, not return to action until December 27 against Newcastle.
Brighton are due to play Wolves on Tuesday night at 7.30pm.
Similarly to United, they are awaiting further testing and other such protocols from the Premier League.
Graham Potter confirmed the outbreak during his pre-match press conference for the Wolves game - having seen his side's latest match vs Tottenham on Sunday afternoon called off due to similar concerns in the Tottenham camp.
Potter said: "We have a combination, injury and Covid.
"We are around three or four and that's something we have to deal with. We are just checking to make sure it's at that number. We have not spoken about that [postponement]. We are trying to monitor and make sure we are not playing games with guys who have Covid.

"We have to keep monitoring and testing and make sure we can keep the number as low as possible.
"We are all in the same position. First and foremost is the health and safety of the players and everyone around. We do all we can to make sure that's done right."
