Brighton boss Graham Potter gave a frank response when asked about Leeds United loanee Ben White's future at the AMEX Stadium.
White, 22, has spent the season on loan at Elland Road this season and has been a key part of the Whites squad which has won promotion to the Premier League.
There has been speculation surrounding White's future and where he will be playing his football next season.
Several clubs including champions Liverpool have been mentioned as a possible destination.
And Leeds themselves have not given up on acquiring White permanently, though the Seagulls are keen to keep him.
Brighton boss Potter has now issued a fresh response on White's future - and has insisted he remains a Brighton player and that he is very highly rated with the Amex Stadium outfit.
SussexLive reports that when asked what his comment would be in regards to the speculation, Potter replied: "That he's contracted with us and that he's on loan at Leeds.
"He's our player. It's fantastic he's had this year with Leeds. Everybody won in that Ben got some great experience. Leeds achieved their goal of promotion.
"But we rate him highly. I've followed his career personally from when he was at Newport and Peterborough.
"As I've said before, we were aware of him at Swansea and we'd be trying to sign him ourselves were we still there.
"We like him a lot. He's a really good player and thankfully he's our player."
