Brighton and Chris Hughton suffer major double injury blow ahead of crucial Arsenal trip

Brighton and Hove Albion will be without two key players for this weekend's Premier League clash against Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium.

The game in north London is important for both clubs for differing reasons.

Unai Emery's side are aiming to keep pace with London rivals Chelsea for that final Champions League spot and must match the Blues' result against Watford to take the battle into the final day of the season.

Whereas the Seagulls still aren't guaranteed survival in the top flight of English football.

Although, they could be safe before they kick-off at the Emirates as Cardiff City will be the final team relegated from the Premier League this season if they fall to defeat against Crystal Palace on Saturday afternoon.

Even a draw in Wales will be seen as a positive result for Hughton and Co as they have a superior goal difference and will be almost certainly be playing top-flight football for a third successive campaign.

However, a win for the Bluebirds puts pressure on Albion ahead of their trip to north London and they will have to get a positive result without midfielder Davy Propper and winger Jose Izquierdo.

As confirmed via the club's official website, the pair are unavailable against the Gunners because of a hamstring and knee problem respectively.

Propper lasted just 10 minutes of the goalless draw against Wolves last month and has missed the last two games, while Izquierdo lasted 66 minutes of the 1-1 draw against Newcastle United last weekend.

Other than that, Hughton has a fully fit squad to choose from as midfielder Beram Keyal is fine following an hamstring scare.
