Drivers were left debating the cause of a flash seen in the sky over Merseyside.
The flash, which took place over Newton-le-Willows, was spotted as far as Warrington and St Helens on the evening of February 16.
This led to drivers taking to social media to speculate on the cause of the flash.

Some believe the flash to have been a bolt of lightning, with others quick to refute this claim.
One Facebook post said: "Anybody know what the big flash in Newton was?" and was met with over 50 comments.
One driver, in St Helens, claims they saw the flash, and that the bolt of light even caused the radio in their car to disconnect momentarily.
Another driver said: "I was heading towards Newton from Warrington. There was no one else around but it lit up the sky like those speed cameras on the motorway."
It wasn't just drivers who spotted the flash, people at home saw it to with one commenting: "I seen it too I'm sat on the sofa in the living room and thought what the heck was that outside."
Another popular theory is the flash was a result of a military jet flying over the town at high speeds, however this has not been confirmed.
