Brig o' Doon: Famous hotel announces re-opening plans under new owners

An iconic Ayrshire hotel has unveiled its grand re-opening plans under its new owners.

We told last month how the Brig o’ Doon House Hotel, in Alloway, had been sold to the Cumnock-based RAD Group.

The hotel, run for 25 years by entrepreneur Bill Costley, is now in the hands of husband and wife team Robert and Vivien Kyle.

And they are promising to "hit the ground running" in time for Christmas, with festive party nights and a Hogmanay Black Tie Ball all planned for December.

Posting on Facebook tonight, they confirmed: "The RAD family is growing and we are thrilled to officially introduce the iconic Alloway based Brig o' Doon House Hotel as our seventh RAD Venue.

"Brig o' Doon was established in 1829 and has since built an incredible reputation as a wedding venue, hotel and restaurant.

"We are excited to continue with this legacy and plan to utilise this well-loved venue to its true potential, giving customers a wonderful place to make memories for years to come.

"We plan to hit the ground running as always and have already prepared for a Christmas to remember and plenty more."

The venue's famous restaurant will also return for business, with the Kyles adding: "Brig o’ Doon House is long renowned for its imaginative and mouth-watering selection of traditional cuisine using the very best of local produce.

"The award-winning restaurant has panoramic views over the stunning gardens and flowing River Doon, we can’t wait to welcome you back this November."
