BRIEF: Zac Rosscup headed to DL with shoulder injury

June 17--CLEVELAND -- The Cubs put reliever Zac Rosscup on the 15-day disabled list with left shoulder inflammation on Wednesday and called up right-hander Yoervis Medina from Triple-A Iowa.

Medina, acquired from Seattle for Welington Castillo, was 1-0 with a 3.00 earned-run average in 12 appearances for the Mariners. He posted a 4.63 ERA in 10 outings at Iowa, with 12 strikeouts and 7 walks in 11 2/3 innings.

Rosscup felt shoulder pains during Tuesday's appearance against the Indians at Wrigley Field and immediately came out of the game.

Tonight is Kyle Schwarber's first start with the Cubs, and he'll be batting eighth while DHing against the Indians.
