May 23--Crystal Lake police say they are investigating the death of a juvenile male who was killed in an all-terrain vehicle crash Sunday night.
The crash happened about 7 p.m. Sunday in a field near the 2400 block of Bryn Mawr Lane, according to police. When rescue crew responded, they found the youth, who had suffered multiple injuries, according to authorities.
The juvenile, whose identity has not been made public by authorities, was pronounced dead on the scene by Crystal Lake Fire Rescue personnel, police said.
Crystal Lake police said its officers and the McHenry County coroner's office are investigating. Deputy Chief Tom Kotlowski said Monday that the coroner's office was planning on releasing additional details Tuesday.
"The investigation is still going on, but at this point it appears to be a tragic accident," Kotlowski said.
