April 11--Haven Theatre Company, now in its fourth year, has announced a 2016-17 season of Chicago premieres that will take place at The Den Theatre, where Haven is a new resident company.
Idris Goodwin's "How We Got On" (Oct. 2-Nov. 13) opens the season. Jess McLeod will direct the coming-of-age '80s tale about three teenage hip-hop fans who are ready to bust out of the 'burbs.
Artistic director Josh Sobel will then direct "We're Gonna Die" (May 8-June 18), Young Jean Lee's uplifting show about impending mortality.
Haven will also present its second annual Director's Haven (Oct. 30-Nov.9), featuring productions of short plays helmed by emerging directors. The lineup currently includes directors Carol Ann Tan and Alyssa White.
All performances will take place at The Den Theatre, 1333 N. Milwaukee Ave.
