BRIEF: 'Young and the Restless' actor recovering after Thanksgiving attack

Dec. 01--Corey Sligh, the "The Young and the Restless" soap opera actor, is recovering after he was reportedly attacked on Thanksgiving while trying to deliver a meal to a friend.

Sligh said he was attacked while delivering a Thanksgiving meal and then was struck by a suspected drunk driver and had to undergo surgery.

After several days in the hospital, the model and actor told fans that he hoped "to heal up in the next few weeks with Rehab and family! Thanks for all the love and I'll keep y'all posted."

Sligh's girlfriend said he is recovering at home.

His girlfriend, Alisa Berhorst, told KTLA that Sligh suffered a broken arm during the attack outside a Rite Aid in Hollywood.

She said two men attacked him after he warned them about their erratic driving outside the pharmacy. Sligh's girlfriend said the men who attacked him were taken into custody.

His injuries, she said, will likely affect his acting schedule on "The Young and the Restless" and "Days of Our Lives."

Los Angeles police said the case is under investigation.
