Oct. 21--It's official: I can finally send a hot dog emoji to my friends when I'm craving a Chicago dog.
The new iOS 9.1 update, available today, includes emojis depicting a hot dog, a taco, a burrito, a cheese wedge, a bag of popcorn and even a bottle of bubbly being popped.
Here's your guide to best usage practices:
Taco: Send when ... you've been drinking.
Burrito: Send when ... you've been drinking.
Hot dog: Send when ... you're heading to the Cubs game.
Cheese wedge: Send when ... you have a bottle of wine and need your friends to bring a food pairing.
Bottle of bubbly: Send when ... your boss promotes you.
Box of popcorn: Send when ... you can't talk in the movie theater and your friend is hogging all the buttery goodness. Actually, please don't text in a movie theater. But it's a funny move to pull even when you're on the couch watching Netflix with a popcorn-greedy significant other.
Live turkey: Send when ... it's Thanksgiving. When else would you choose turkey over ham?
Crab: Send when ... you're feeling grumpy.
