BRIEF: Y Chicago ad agency names new president

March 19--Ad agency Y Chicago has named John Fraser as its new president.

Fraser replaces longtime President Kary McIlwain, who will become nonexecutive chairman of Y Chicago.

A veteran of several Chicago agencies, Fraser joins Y Chicago from McGarryBowen, where he had been chief operating officer since 2012. Before that, Fraser co-founded beverage company Rosa's Horchata, strategy firm Brand Team Partners and advertising agency Element 79. He started his career as a media supervisor at Leo Burnett.

"We have a really strong team here in Chicago, and we're supported by some of the smartest people and best strategic resources of any global ad network," Fraser said in a statement. "I'm excited to play a role in the continued growth and evolution of Y Chicago."

Y Chicago clients include Bel Brands, Butterball, BMO Harris Bank, Carfax, Embassy Suites, DoubleTree Hotels and Famous Footwear.
