BRIEF: 'X-Files' star Gillian Anderson slams Botox speculation

Feb. 15--"The X-Files" star Gillian Anderson slammed a Daily Mail report last week that speculated where on her face she has gotten Botox and cosmetic procedures.

"If it weren't so sad, this bollocks would have made my day," Anderson wrote Thursday on Facebook alongside a picture of the article.

The Daily Mail quoted plastic surgeons who suggested that Anderson may have had surgery on her lower eyelids and a comestic procedure to tighten loose skin on her neck.

Anderson, 47, posted a photo of herself Friday with the caption "This is how I really look! #agingwithoutshame."

The Chicago-born actress, who attended DePaul University, reprised her role as FBI special agent Dana Scully in a Fox revival of the '90s TV series "The X-Files" and recently appeared on the British television miniseries "War and Peace."

"The X-Files" airs 7 p.m. Mondays.
