BRIEF: Woodstock bank robbed; thought to be same culprit as Crystal Lake case

April 16--A man robbed a Fifth Third Bank in Woodstock Wednesday morning, police said.

Woodstock authorities said a white man with facial hair who was wearing sunglasses, a Chicago Bears baseball hat and a New York hoodie handed a note demanding cash to a teller at the bank at 1745 S. Eastwood Dr. at just before 11 a.m. Wednesday.

The man stood about 5-foot-10 to 6 feet tall and weighed about 180 pounds, according to the FBI.

No weapon was used, police said.

The teller gave the man an undisclosed amount of cash and the man left, possibly in an older green Jeep Cherokee with two females, Woodstock police said.

Authorities believe the same suspect is responsible for a recent bank robbery at a Fifth Third Bank in Crystal Lake and are working with officers there, as well as the FBI, to investigate.

"Numerous leads are being followed as this investigation remains fluid," Woodstock police said in a news release.
